The Derby Impossible Cup
An invitation to visit Derby Museum in 2016 led to an opportunity for Kathryn to create an artwork for their historic porcelain collection.
Utterly beguiled by their miniature antique impossible-to-drink-from tulip-shaped cup, Kathryn decided to create her own “Impossible Cup”. Combining memories of the diminutive cup and the coral specimens in the Museum’s inspiring nature gallery, Kathryn created the “Derby Impossible Cup”. At just 7 cm tall, this now sits beside it’s forebear in the Museum’s collection.
